Morgan Whittaker is the Colorado Rapids' new club-record signing, and the early returns are extremely promising.

The English forward scored twice in his first MLS start on Saturday night, helping his new team earn a 3-3 home draw with Seattle Sounders FC.

Whittaker's brace came in his second MLS appearance for the Rapids since being acquired from EFL Championship side Middlesbrough FC for a reported $10.7 million fee.

Account opened

Whittaker's left foot opened the scoring in the 28th minute at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, sweeping home a powerful cross from Paxten Aaronson.

Stunning strike

Whittaker wasn't done and linked up with Aaronson yet again in the 76th minute, smashing the ball home with his left foot after collecting a cross from his fellow Designated Player.

Points split

Despite getting a brace from Whittaker, Colorado settled for a point after Seattle earned a 3-3 draw via late goals from Dejan Joveljić and Caden Clark.

But as Whittaker acclimates and shows his quality, the Rapids will hope their new-look attack can make waves as the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs approach.
