A youthful US men's national team begins their 2030 FIFA World Cup cycle on Saturday with an international friendly against Peru at Orlando City's Inter.co Stadium.

Home matches against Chile (Sept. 29) and fellow 2026 World Cup co-hosts Mexico (Oct. 3) and Canada (Oct. 6) are also on the docket.
Fresh off making the Round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup, head coach Mauricio Pochettino has called up a 28-man squad featuring a significant MLS presence.
Thirteen MLS players earned call-ups, eight of whom are participating in their first senior USMNT camp and are age 21 or younger.
Headlining that latter group is 16-year-old Philadelphia Union homegrown phenom Cavan Sullivan, who's contributed 7g/12a in MLS this season.
Other highlights of the young core include Philadelphia center back Neil Pierre (18), Red Bull New York midfielder Adri Mehmeti (17), Red Bull New York forward Julian Hall (18), New England Revolution winger Peyton Miller (18) and Orlando City forward Justin Ellis (19).
Several established European-based players are also in the group, including Tyler Adams, Sergiño Dest, Antonee Robinson, Gio Reyna and Yunus Musah.
As the new cycle begins, veterans Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie and Folarin Balogun are missing as Pochettino uses this camp to evaluate new players.
Peru are also looking toward a new era after missing out on the 2026 World Cup, with former Brazil manager Mano Menezes now leading La Bicolor into the 2030 cycle.
Orlando City midfielder Wilder Cartagena is the only current MLS player on Peru's roster, while longtime goalkeeper Pedro Gallese will make his return to Inter.co Stadium after featuring for the Lions for six years before departing for Deportivo Cali following the 2025 campaign.
Peru enter Saturday's match after most recently falling 3-1 to Spain in a June friendly.
