TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Retirement

Red Bull New York defender Tim Parker has announced his retirement from professional soccer after the 2026 MLS season, ending a 12-year MLS career.

Parker, who will play his final match during Saturday's Decision Day contest vs. Atlanta United (4 pm ET | Apple TV), represented five different clubs across his 12 MLS seasons, including two stints with RBNY (2018-20, 2025-26).

The 33-year-old had a career-high 126 appearances across all competitions with Red Bull, helping the club win the 2018 Supporters' Shield with a then-record 71 points, behind a league-low 33 goals allowed and league-high 15 clean sheets.

Parker also played for Vancouver Whitecaps FC (2015-17), Houston Dynamo FC (2021-2022), St. Louis CITY SC (2023-24) and the New England Revolution (2024).

He was an MLS All-Star and Best XI selection during St. Louis CITY's historic 2023 expansion season and won the 2015 Canadian Championship with Vancouver.

“I've decided that the time has come to retire from professional soccer. This game has given me more than I ever could have imagined, and I'm incredibly grateful for every opportunity, every challenge, and every person who has been part of this journey,” said Parker.

“I've been fortunate to represent some incredible clubs, play alongside amazing teammates, and build relationships that will last a lifetime. I'm especially thankful to the coaches, staff, supporters, and everyone behind the scenes who helped me along the way. To my family, thank you for the sacrifices, support, and belief in me through every high and low. None of this would have been possible without you."

Selected 13th overall by Vancouver in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, Parker has 7g/4a over 303 regular-season appearances.

A former US youth international, Parker was capped twice by the USMNT, featuring in 2018 friendlies vs. Ireland and France.

“Tim has been an outstanding professional throughout his career, and someone who has earned the respect of everyone he has played with and worked alongside. His leadership, professionalism, commitment, and passion for the game have made him an important figure at every club he has represented,” said RBNY head of sport Julian de Guzman.

“He has always led by example, and his impact extends well beyond what he has accomplished on the field. We congratulate him on an excellent career and thank him for everything he has given to the game. We wish Tim and his family nothing but the best in this next chapter."
